Dear Sixth Grade Students, 

We are so excited to welcome you to John Jay Middle School as the newest members of the Wolves! Starting middle school is a big step, and we know it may come with a mix of excitement, curiosity, and even a few nerves but please know you are not alone. Everyone here is ready to support you as you begin this new journey. 

At JJMS, you’ll find endless opportunities to explore new classes, join clubs and activities, and build lasting friendships. Along the way, you’ll meet teachers and staff who are committed to helping you grow as curious and skilled thinkers, reflective learners, and inclusive partners who value the voices of others. 

Most importantly, we believe that every student matters. Our school is more than just a building, it’s a vibrant community where your voice is heard, your dreams are supported, and you are empowered to reach your fullest potential. As Assistant Principal, my mission is to ensure that every student feels included, valued, and confident in taking risks, learning from challenges, and developing resilience. Together, we will create an environment where kindness, respect, and curiosity thrive. 

Middle school is also a time to try new things, whether it’s joining a sports team, exploring the arts, participating in student leadership, or discovering a new subject that inspires you. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone, take on challenges, and embrace new opportunities. Every day is a chance to grow as a learner, leader, and responsible member of our global community.
