Welcome to Transportation

Dear families,

Our mission is to ensure students' safe transport to and from school. We take pride in communicating with families and working together towards this mission.

From 6:00 a.m., when the first buses roll out of the yard, to 7:00 p.m. or later when athletic teams return to school, the KLSD Transportation Department transports up to 3,100 students safely, twice daily. We travel over the 58 square miles of our District and to schools outside our District for our special needs and private school students, as well as to many after-school programs and athletic events. We have 89 buses--including EV-1, our first electric bus--and 75 staff members to ensure the safety of your children.

Your child's home-to-school / school-to-home bus stop information is on our parent portal. For lost item(s) on a bus, please check with the driver first; they are usually left on the bus. To speak with a dispatcher, call (914) 763-7233.

Sincerely,

Nora Beltran

Supervisor of Transportation
