JJMS Relay Field Day

JJMS Relay Field Day

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our second annual Relay Field Day is taking place tomorrow, May 29!!

Here are some important reminders:

  • The schedule for the day is linked here.
  • All students will be hearing from Ms. Burns, a JJMS staff member, briefly about her journey with cancer and how Relay For Life supports people. The speech will not be too detailed and will focus mainly on the positive aspects of her journey.  Please give your child(ren) a heads up about this and if they feel it may be too much, please contact your guidance counselor and we will have them go to an alternate location just for the speech.
  • Teachers/monitors will walk their classes to the theater/contest field according to the times listed in the schedule.
  • Once students arrive at the contest field, they will be directed to go to their assigned station. Please have your child(ren) wear the appropriate color listed below based on their Social Studies class.
  • Students will be participating at each station for approximately 10 minutes before having their italian ices and enjoying the splash tower festivities.
  • Students should bring water bottles/hats to keep cool and sunscreen, if needed. Also, 8th graders should avoid eating a heavy breakfast as they will be participating first.

A special thank you to the PTO who donated a variety of materials to make this event even more of a success!

We are very excited about this event!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Ms. Graybosch
