24.25 Team Progress Welcome Letter

VERB: To move forward, advance, proceed; to move toward a higher, better or more advanced stage
"The secret to making progress is to get started." ~ Mark Twain

Dear Student,

We hope you are enjoying your summer vacation!  A new school year is right around the corner. We understand that brings mixed feelings.  Hopefully, one of those feelings is excitement.  Coming to a new school can be a little scary, but we hope your visit here in the spring helped to alleviate some of your uncertainty.

On Team Progress, Mr. Fritsch will teach math and science, and Mrs. Ghiozzi will teach English/Language Arts (ELA) and social studies.

Now that you are in sixth grade, you will have many opportunities to grow as an independent learner.  One of our goals is for you to learn organizational and time management skills.  These are essential life-long skills that are as important as any curriculum we will teach.

In preparation for sixth grade, we have enclosed a list of supplies you will need for your academic classes.  You may have purchased these supplies through the PTO (see website) or collected them on your own.  Some of these supplies will be collected from you on the first day of school, some you will carry around every day, and some things you will be asked to keep at home.

We are looking forward to working with you in the coming year to celebrate your successes, help you overcome challenges, encourage you to reach greater heights, and develop new friendships. In other words, to make PROGRESS!

Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Sincerely,

David Fritsch (Team Leader)
Kerrie Ghiozzi
